As an Environmental Reporting Co‑ordinator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and transparency of our environmental data and regulatory reporting. What you will be responsible for: You’ll take ownership of our environmental reporting framework—making sure that all submissions to regulators are accurate, compliant and audit-ready. Working across the business, you’ll provide expert assurance and challenge, helping ensure our data stands up to scrutiny and supports strong environmental performance. This is a role where your work directly supports compliance, builds regulator confidence, and helps protect our reputation. Own and deliver environmental regulatory reporting to external bodies, ensuring it is accurate, complete and submitted on time Provide independent assurance and challenge on environmental data across the business Lead improvements to reporting processes, systems and data quality controls Interpret and embed new regulatory requirements into business processes Act as a key contact for regulators such as the Environment Agency and Natural England Assure key environmental KPIs and ESG-related metrics Oversee groundwater returns and associated compliance activities Identify and manage risks related to reporting and data integrity What you’ll bring to the role: We’re looking for someone who is detail-focused, organised and confident working with complex data and regulatory requirements. You’ll also have: Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal The ability to influence and challenge constructively across teams A proactive, collaborative approach with strong organisational skills Experience working with data systems and Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel) Knowledge and experience Experience in environmental regulation and reporting Understanding of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks Knowledge of water or wastewater operations (desirable) Experience within the utilities sector (desirable) Qualifications Degree in a science, engineering or environmental discipline (essential) Southern Water is at the forefront of transforming Britain’s water industry, investing significantly to enhance resilience, sustainability, and service excellence.
